December 20, 2011, SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of 4 food laboratories located in Turkey, namely Özel MSM Gida Kontrol Laboratuari ve Danismanlik Hizmetleri Ticaret A.S. (“MSM”), MRL Merkez Kalinti Arastirma Laboratuari A.S. (“MRL”), Sanilab Gida Kontrol Laboratuari ve Danismanlik Hizmetleri Tic. ve San. Ltd. Sti. (“Sanilab”) and Özel Hatay Gida Kontrol Laboratuari ve Danismanlik Hizmetleri Tic. Ltd. Sti. (“Özel Hatay”).
Founded between 2006 and 2009, MSM, MRL, Özel Hatay and Sanilab are leading privately owned laboratories in the growing Turkish food market. The companies are located in Mersin, Hatay and Antalya and are expected to generate cumulative revenues of TL c.16mio in 2011. They employ over 100 staff.
