29.05.2026, Groupe Mutuel reports strong financial results for 2025, with a consolidated profit of 115 million Swiss francs. Despite sustained pressure on healthcare costs and intensifying competition, Groupe Mutuel has confirmed the relevance of its strategy and announces strengthened ambitions for the coming years, particularly in terms of diversification and digitalisation.

Groupe Mutuel closed the 2025 financial year with very solid results, posting a consolidated profit of CHF 115 million on total revenue exceeding CHF 6.5 billion. Targets were exceeded in private insurance, individual and occupational pensions, and corporate insurance, underscoring the effectiveness of the strategic direction implemented in recent years and the ongoing commitment of employees. “2025 was a very positive year and confirms that our strategic choices were the right ones”, said Karin Perraudin, Chair of the Board of Groupe Mutuel.

AOS/OKP basic insurance: solid foundations in a highly competitive market
In compulsory health insurance (AOS/OKP), Groupe Mutuel achieved a strong technical result (+122 million) and maintained a high level of solvency, despite an increasingly complex and volatile environment. “In basic health insurance, our strong technical performance and sound financial solvency demonstrate that we remain firmly in control of our core business, despite growing market challenges,” emphasised Thomas Boyer, CEO of Groupe Mutuel. “Of course, this year was not without its difficulties. The loss of 44,000 insured persons in compulsory health insurance, although anticipated, reflects the reality of a highly competitive market and the constant need for agility and flexibility. But this situation has not weakened our momentum. On the contrary, it has prompted us to sharpen our focus, reassess our approach and strengthen team cohesion. While some markets contracted, others accelerated, resulting in an excellent year overall”, added the CEO. Private insurance and both individual and occupational pension solutions continued to record growth. The Corporate segment further consolidated its position, achieving turnover of nearly CHF 1.1 billion, an increase of CHF 76 million year on year. Occupational pensions strengthened their market position, particularly in German-speaking Switzerland, with premium volumes rising by more than CHF 30 million. This growth reflects a controlled, high-quality development supported by a strong culture of continuous improvement. For its part, the Life insurance business also maintained its upward momentum with gross premium income reaching 91.4 million (+5.26%). Growth across these segments continues to accelerate.

Political pressure and the containment of healthcare costs
The year 2025 was marked by intense political debate surrounding the Swiss healthcare system, against a backdrop of steadily rising healthcare costs (+4.6%). Groupe Mutuel welcomes several developments, including the introduction of TARDOC and the work of the national round table on cost containment, while urging authorities to implement even more ambitious measures. In terms of digitalisation, Groupe Mutuel supports the overhaul of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) but calls for further simplification to encourage widespread adoption by insured persons and stakeholders. The Group considers the EPR essential to the future of the Swiss healthcare system. “It is the cornerstone of future reforms. Without the EPR, efforts to reduce unnecessary services and to improve care coordination cannot be achieved on a large scale. We are moving in the right direction, but the pace remains too slow. We need to speed things up, especially given Switzerland’s delay in this area compared to other countries”, said Thomas Boyer, CEO of Groupe Mutuel.

Strategy 2026–2028: diversification, digitalisation and financial strength
Building on the strength of its results, Groupe Mutuel is pursuing a clear strategy for the coming years. The diversification of its activities, particularly in private and occupational pensions, is being stepped up, alongside investments in digitalisation, artificial intelligence and improving customer experience. Several concrete projects are already underway, such as the EVA chatbot, integrated into the Customer Area. Since its launch in September 2025, EVA has processed nearly 1,400 enquiries per day, reflecting strong and growing user adoption. “To secure our future, we must continue to keep costs under control and enhance our operational efficiency”, said Karin Perraudin. “We intend to accelerate our technological investments and further diversify our activities within the pensions sector”, concluded Thomas Boyer.
