06.03.2026, The Migros Group is realigning its import logistics for fruit and vegetables: from 2028, Buonvicini AG will handle these operations on behalf of Migros. Optimised processes and solutions for implementation are currently being drawn up.

As part of this realignment, a system of focused import logistics will be introduced with two hubs: the existing southern hub in Stabio, Canton Ticino, and a new northern hub. Following extensive evaluation, the Migros Basel Cooperative's logistics centre in Münchenstein, Canton Basel-Landschaft, emerged as the ideal location. The key factors were its location in the border triangle, its excellent transport links and the option of making efficient use of existing infrastructure. Appropriate transition measures can also be taken for all employees concerned.

To create the space needed for Buonvicini AG in Münchenstein, the Migros Group is planning to relocate the entire logistics activities of the Migros Basel Cooperative to the Migros Aare Cooperative in Schönbühl, Canton Bern, where the existing logistics platform can be used. Negotiations on this project are currently underway and the contract is expected to be signed in the summer of 2026. The project is set to be fully implemented by 2030.

By realigning these operations, the Migros Group is laying the foundations for modern, efficient logistics that ensure optimal freshness for customers and sustainably strengthen the Migros Group's core business.
