26.08.2025, Mehdi Bensouda will take over the management of the two Hirslanden hospitals in Lausanne – Bois- Cerf and Cecil – as of 1 October 2025. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in both the hospital sector and the field of medical technology.
Mehdi Bensouda has a Master’s in Strategy, Planning and Control from Paris Dauphine University and an Executive MBA from the IMD Business School in Lausanne. He has also completed various training courses, particularly on the topic of value-based health care at Harvard Business School. Driven by his passion for innovation and sustainability, he is committed to ensuring the further development of the healthcare system – with a clear focus on patient benefits and targeted team support.

Regional integrated care
With two hospitals and a radiology institute, Hirslanden has an extensive integrated care network in Lausanne, where the two hospitals complement each other with their respective areas of expertise.
The Hirslanden Clinique Bois-Cerf specialises in orthopaedics, radiology, sports medicine and hand surgery, oncology, radio-oncology, ophthalmic surgery, ENT and internal medicine. It has an orthopaedic emergency department. Meanwhile, the Hirslanden Clinique Cecil has core competencies in the specialty areas of cardiology, radiology, cardiovascular surgery, oncology, abdominal surgery, general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, urology, neurosurgery and internal medicine. It also runs an intensive care unit recognised by the Swiss Society of Intensive Care Medicine and a general emergency centre that is open 24 hours a day.
