July 02, 2009, Aare-Tessin Ltd. for Electricity, a company of Alpiq Holding Ltd., has taken over the Romanian energy provider EHOL Distribution S.R.L. The associated transaction was closed on 1 July 2009. EHOL has a large portfolio of industrial customers in Romania. With this takeover, Alpiq has become one of the top three end-customer providers in Romania and has further expanded its position in the South-East European electricity market.
Following the acquisition of Buzmann Industries S.R.L. in 2007, Alpiq Holding Ltd. has further extended its sales activities in Romania. The Swiss energy concern took over the Romanian electricity company EHOL Distribution S.R.L. on 1 July 2009. The contractual partners have agreed not to disclose the price of the transaction.
