Bank Julius Bär to open branch in Munich


July 06, 2009, Bank Julius Bär (Deutschland) AG is to open a branch in Munich on 1 October 2009. This move coincides with the 20th anniversary of the bank's entry into the German market. As a result, the Swiss company – which has a long tradition of banking excellence – will be able to provide clients in the region with direct access to its comprehensive range of wealth management services and will strengthen its presence in this key market, where it already has operations in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Duesseldorf and Stuttgart. The branch will be managed by Volker Rützel.


Bank Julius Bär will grow its activities in the German market by opening a branch in Munich on 1 October 2009, thus establishing a presence in the key region of Bavaria.

The manager of the new branch, Volker Rützel, has around 20 years of experience in the finance industry. He is joining Julius Bär from UBS in Munich, where he had worked in the area of Private Banking since 1998 and was most recently the Deputy Branch Manager. Together with the relationship managers Jürgen Wörl and Stefan Hansen, Volker Rützel will be responsible for offering first-class advice and specially tailored wealth management solutions to the growing client base of Bank Julius Bär (Deutschland) AG in Bavaria.

By opening a branch in Munich, we will be able to serve our clients in Bavaria even more effectively," added Rossi.

The Munich branch will be located at Brienner Strasse 1 in the heart of the city.

Bank Julius Bär (Deutschland) AG has had a full banking licence for the German market since 1989 and has branches in Frankfurt, Duesseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart. The bank has invested continuously in staff and infrastructure at its existing locations in order to steadily strengthen its position in this key market. Bank Julius Bär (Deutschland) AG will celebrate its 20th anniversary in September 2009.
