February 13, 2009, Schlieren. The Schlatter Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: STRN) today announced that it is planning to adapt production capacity at its head office in Schlieren (Switzerland) in line with the reduction in its order intake and will therefore introduce short-time working from the start of May 2009. This measure will probably extend to all areas of its head office and production site.
The Schlatter Group recorded a 51 percent decline in its order intake to CHF 89 million as of the end of the 2008 financial year (previous year: CHF 183 million). Its two segments – welding and technical weaving – were both equally affected by the downturn. Through the measures it is planning, the Schlatter Group wants to adapt its capacity to take account of the uncertain economic outlook and its significantly reduced order backlog.
