November 30, 2010, The Chairman of the Executive Board of Bell Group, Adolphe R. Fritschi, has requested the Board of Directors to approve his early retirement for personal reasons and to allow him to leave his post with immediate effect. The Board of Directors has approved his request and would like to thank Adolphe R. Fritschi for his extraordinary performance and successful contribution to the company.
The Board of Directors has appointed Lorenz Wyss (51) as his successor. Lorenz Wyss has been with Coop in various positions since 1995, most recently as Head of Category Management Fresh Products/Food Service and member of the Marketing and Procurement Management Board. He is very well connected in the sector and will take up his new position on 1 April 2011.The Board of Directors is convinced that Lorenz Wyss is the right person to ensure the company's successful future.
Until he takes up his new position, the company will be managed by the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and long-standing Chief Financial Officer Martin Gysin. The current business year promises excellent results. The annual results will be published in detail on 17 February 2011.
